About Over the Rainbow

Over The Rainbow is a boutique surrogacy agency in Hermosa Beach, California, "built on empathy, expertise, and connection." It was founded by a woman who became a mother through surrogacy herself, and it says so plainly: "We're not a corporate agency, and that's exactly the point." The challenge

Over the Rainbow had a clear process. The team had written down every step of a surrogate's journey, from the first inquiry to profile creation, and the same for intended parents. It wanted software that followed that process, not the other way round.

What it runs on SurroHub

• Its own application steps. Surrogates move through five steps named in the agency's own words: Prescreening Inquiry, Initial Intake, Application Review, Screening and Approved. The wording worked so well that SurroHub now uses it for every agency.
• Sub-statuses from its own flow. Each step carries the sub-statuses from the agency's own process document, such as Schedule Intake Call or Application Needs Review, so anyone on the team can see exactly where a surrogate is and whose turn it is. Intended parents follow the agency's own four steps too.
• The intake call is the gate. Applicants are not handed a portal login on day one. When a coordinator marks the intake call complete, one choice moves the surrogate to Application Review, sends her portal login and creates her full application.
• Screening packets in one sitting. The screening paperwork goes out as a single packet she signs in one session, including a medical-records release for each birth and each provider. Every signed document files itself to her profile, and reminders follow a schedule the agency sets.
• Applications straight into the pipeline. The "Apply Now" button on overtherainbow.net opens the agency's own branded SurroHub application, so every new applicant lands in the pipeline as a full profile.
• Contracts from templates. More than 25 of the agency's agreements are set up as templates, filled in from each profile and sent for e-signature.

In one month the agency sent more than 80 requests, from a rejection-and-archive workflow to intended-parent profile changes. SurroHub logged every one and worked through them in batches, and the ones that help every agency went into the platform for all of them.

Since its first applicant arrived in June 2026, Over the Rainbow has run on SurroHub:
